Seyed Hooman Ghasemi

Structural Reliability, Infrastructural Resilience, Bridges, Fracture Mechanics, Random Vibrations, Mathematical Modeling Research Associate at Washington State University, Formerly: Assistant Professor, Structural Engineering, Qazvin Azad University, Qazvin, Iran

h-index: Scopus: 8

Seyed Hooman Ghasem is a research associate at Washington State University and he was formerly an assistant professor at Azad Qazvin University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Auburn University in the USA under Prof. Andrzej S. Nowak founding and supervising. His researches mainly focus on the target reliability of structures and mathematics of reliability concepts. In addition, he is working on probabilistic fracture & fatigue failure analysis, development of probabilistic failure criteria, ground motion selection, critical excitation & performance-based design, and code calibration including load and resistance factor design. He had a significant impact on AASHTO LRFD Tunnel design specification. Recently, he is attempting to propose a new resilience metric for the infrastructural systems using the combination of the structural reliability properties including robustness and redundancy. He also working on a novel structural health monitoring system based on the reliability analysis. Also, he is trying to develop a new generation of reliability limit state functions for the transportation, environmental system,  medical science purpose in order to assess the safety level of the systems with regard to the reliability concepts.

Danial Rezazadeh Eidgahee

Geotechnical Engineering, Geomaterials, Discrete Element Modeling (DEM),Waste Material Reuse,Soft Computing Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering Faculty, Semnan University, Semnan, Iran

h-index: Scopus: 5

Danial Rezazadeh Eidgahee obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree in the area of Geotechnical Engineering from Semnan University, Semnan, Iran. He received his M.Sc. degree in 2013 from the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in the field of numerical modeling, particularly discrete element modeling (DEM) of granular materials. His Ph.D. researches include experimental and numerical investigations on the geomaterials mechanical behavior.  Environmentally friendly and reusing waste materials in civil and geotechnical infrastructures are his broad concerns. He is interested in applications of soft computing approaches and probabilistic studies in the field of geotechnical and foundation engineering.
